Christchurch Was Struck by a 7.4-Magnitude Earthquake

A landmass portion of Christchurch in New Zealand has been struck by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake recently at around 4:30 A.M. of Saturday which last for about 3-minutes. Several damages was reported in the southern island with population of more than 300-thousands. According to the latest updates straight from the affected area, they are now experiencing a wide electrical blackouts cause mainly by the devastating quake which cause buildings, houses, and bridges to fall in just a few minutes.

According to Environment News Service (ENS), Christchurch is the country's one of the most populated next to the urban city. Emergency search and rescue operation has been initiated by the defense department and for now, there was no casualty reported but people living in the affected area currently face a water shortage and other commodities.

For now, airport bridging the local flights to the said area was currently close due probably to the damages cause by the disastrous earth tremor. Try to check some more soon after this break.
